Every year, the Lion’s Gate portal is talked about as one of the most powerful times for manifestation. It peaks around 8 August, or 8/8, and is seen as a time to get clear on what you want, let go of what’s holding you back and focus your energy on what you want to create next.
But here’s what I believe. A date isn’t going to change your life. You are.
You can use the Lion’s Gate portal as a moment to reset, set your intentions and get really clear on what you’re calling in. But manifestation isn’t about making a wish and then sitting around waiting for the universe to deliver it.
It’s about what you do next. So, from now until 12 August, here’s what I’ll be doing every day to focus on what I want and start showing up as the version of me who creates it.
What is the Lion’s Gate portal?
The Lion’s Gate portal happens every year around 8 August and is associated with the alignment of Sirius, one of the brightest stars in the sky, with the Sun during Leo season. In spiritual and manifestation practices, this period is believed to carry powerful energy for transformation, intention setting and new beginnings.
Whether you believe in the spiritual side of it or simply see it as an opportunity to reset, I think there’s something really powerful about giving yourself a moment to stop and consciously decide what you want next.
Because how often do we actually do that?
We spend so much time thinking about what isn’t working, what we don’t have, what we’re worried about and what everyone else is doing that we forget to ask ourselves the most important question.
What do I actually want?
Use this time to think about the life you want to create, the person you want to become and what needs to change to get you there.
Then comes the most important bit. What are you going to do about it? Start your morning by visualising your dream life

Before you pick up your phone in the morning, give yourself ten minutes to visualise.
Close your eyes and imagine the life you’re calling in as though you’re already living it. Think about where you are, what you’re doing, who you’re surrounded by and, most importantly, how you feel.
But don’t make your visualisation only about the things you want to have. Think about who you are in that life.
How does that version of you show up? How does she speak to herself? What does she believe is possible? How does she spend her time? What does she say yes to? What does she no longer tolerate?
We can get so focused on having the dream house, relationship, career, business or bank balance that we forget to think about the person we need to become along the way.
Don’t just visualise what she has. Visualise who she had to become to have it.
Write down what you need to let go of
Straight after your visualisation, grab your journal and ask yourself one question.
What can’t come with me into the life I’m creating?
Trust the first thing that comes to you and write it down.
It might be a belief you’ve held about yourself for years. It might be a habit you know isn’t serving you anymore. It could be a relationship, a pattern, a fear or a story you keep repeating about why you can’t have what you want. Maybe you need to stop worrying so much about what other people think. Maybe you need to stop telling yourself you’re not ready. Maybe you need to stop putting everyone else first or waiting for the perfect moment to begin.
Choose one thing each morning and be honest with yourself about it. Because you can’t keep holding on to the old version of you while asking for a completely new life.
Do one thing your future self would do. This is the part of manifestation that I think gets missed far too often.
Action.
You can visualise. You can journal. You can make the most beautiful vision board in the world. But at some point, you have to move.
Every day, do one thing that the version of you you’re becoming would do. Ideally, choose something that feels slightly outside your normal behaviour.
Send the email you’ve been putting off. Apply for the opportunity. Post the video. Try the new workout. Wear the outfit you’ve been too nervous to wear. Have the conversation. Set the boundary. Book the thing. Say no to something that doesn’t feel right. Say yes to something that scares you a little.
It doesn’t have to be massive. It just has to move you. Your future self isn’t someone you magically become one day. You become her through the decisions you start making now.
Look for the proof that things are changing
At the end of every day, write down three to five pieces of proof that you’re already moving towards the life you want. These can be big things, but most of the time they’ll probably be small.
Maybe you received a lovely message. Maybe an opportunity appeared that you weren’t expecting. Maybe you did the workout when you would normally have cancelled. Maybe you set a boundary. Maybe you handled a difficult situation differently. Maybe you caught yourself falling back into an old pattern and chose not to.
We’re often incredibly good at finding evidence for why something isn’t working. So start doing the opposite.
Stop only looking for proof that it isn’t working. Start noticing the proof that it is.
Those small moments matter. They show you that you’re already changing the way you think, behave and show up.
Use 1111 as a reminder of your intention
There’s a reason so many of us stop when we see 11:11. Maybe you make a wish. Maybe you screenshot it. Maybe you simply take it as a little sign that you’re exactly where you’re meant to be. For me, 1111 is a reminder to come back to my intention.
What am I calling in? Where am I going? Am I making choices that are actually taking me there?
That’s the meaning behind our 1111 Necklace. It’s a little reminder you can wear every day to keep your intention close and bring yourself back to what you’re creating.
Set your intention when you put it on and every time you see 1111, use it as your reminder to keep going.
Manifestation is about more than making a wish
Manifestation isn’t sitting around thinking positively and hoping the universe drops your dream life in your lap. It’s getting clear on what you want. It’s recognising what’s keeping you stuck. It’s changing the thoughts and patterns that keep taking you back to the same place. It’s taking action even when that action feels uncomfortable. Most importantly, it’s becoming the version of you who can actually create the life you keep saying you want.
So use the Lion’s Gate portal as your moment to decide that something is going to change. Get clear on what you want. Visualise it. Let go of what can’t come with you. Take one action every day and start looking for evidence that you’re already becoming her. But don’t give all of the power to 8/8.
The power is in what you choose to do next.
Ready to start creating the life you actually want?
If you’re ready to go deeper, The Manifesting Formula is where I teach you my process for turning what you want into something you can actually start creating.
It’s not about wishing and waiting. It’s about getting clear on what you want, understanding what’s been keeping you stuck and learning how to start showing up differently.
Because your dream life isn’t going to create itself.
You have to become the person who creates it.
Love,
Tanya x
